Batista Merlot 2005.....more on this wine

A substantial wine brimming with opulent full ripe fruit, fine-grained cedary oak and fine tannins. The palate is intense and powerful yet displays a silky smoothness. A wine that will benefit from extended cellaring.

Manjimup

Manjimup is smack bang in the heart of traditional timber country in the State's south. It experiences very cold winters which makes it ideal for a number of aromatic whites, with potential for pinot noir as well.

The long and relatively cool summers are ideal for ripening grapes, producing flavours that are intense and strong with good varietal definition. Manjimup's climate is somewhere between Margaret River and Mount Barker, and also very similar to Bordeaux.

Henry Creek Shiraz 2003

Indian Spice to ripe red currant and Christmas pudding aromas. This wine delivers on all those aromas with purity and depth. The palate has a generosity of sweet fruit combined with structure and length.

Margaret River

Margaret River has developed into one of the premium powerhouses of the Australian wine industry.

Integral to Margaret River’s success are soils (mainly gravelly loam formed from the underlying granite and gneissic rock) and a climate closely identified with the warmer Bordeaux regions such as Saint Emilion and Pomerol. Here, though, the sunshine hours are greater and the maritime influence is very strong.

Seven Day Road Unoaked Chardonnay 2005.....more on this wine

Pemberton

The beauty and grandeur of Pemberton can be breathtaking. This is the home of the towering karri trees - mighty and magnificent. It also contains some of the richest farmland in the State, plus rivers and streams, wetlands and national parks. And, of course, there are vineyards - at this stage relatively few, their owners drawn to the cool climate, rich soils and pristine environment.

Optimus Sauvignon Blanc 2005.....more on this wine

This premium wine has been styled to retain the fruit character sand create a clean and vibrant but complex palate.

Blackwood

After a lengthy apprenticeship to pay its dues, the Blackwood region is starting to show encouraging signs. During the last couple of years there has been a distinct improvement in consistency and quality that suggests the region is at last starting to realise its potential. At the same time there have been a few new names to emerge, which points to the growing confidence of growers and acceptance by wine drinkers.

The Blackwood area is one of the State's most attractive and picturesque with its lush green pastures, towering trees and inviting rivers that wind through the area.

Seven Day Road Merlot Malbec 2005.....more on this wine (3 bottles)

The Merlot at Fonty’s Pool Vineyard is grown on ironstone gravelly loams associated with the native marri and jarrah eucalypts (these soils promote less vigour than the more common karri loams of the region).

The Malbec adds a rich inky colour to the wine and ripens to give rich smooth tanins. American and French Oak were further used to promte the richness of the wine. The result is a smooth rich wine to enjoy now or improve with a further 2 -3 years.
